Santa Fe

With profound sadness we announce the passing of our beautiful and loving mother. She left us peacefully while at home
surrounded by family on October 19, 2023.

Predeceased by her husband Bennie V. Martinez, Sr.; grandchildren Matthew Martinez and Tomas Gomez; great-grandson Caden Martinez; parents Margarito and Manuelita Lobato; and sister, Julia Ulibarri.

Stella leaves behind her brother Raymond Lobato, wife Eloisa.  Many beloved nephews, nieces, cousins and friends

Stella was the beloved mother of Bernice L. Baros; Ronald G. Martinez, wife Melba; Phillip Martinez, Sr., wife Darilyn; Melanie E. Gomez; Diana Sandoval, partner Craig Valencia; Ben V. Martinez, Jr., wife Pearl; Consuelo M. Constantine; and Michael E. Martinez, partner Bernice Garduno.

Grandmother to, David Baros; Regina Baros, Lucricia Baros; Ron Martinez Jr., wife Stacy; Shannon Martinez; Phillip Martinez, Jr., wife Amanda; Nicole Kirkman, husband Paul; Stella Gomez; Lawrence Sandoval, Jr.; Crystal Sandoval; Benito Martinez, III; Jacob Martinez; Jolene Martinez; and Michael Martinez, Jr. Great-grandmother to, Zachary Baros, Christian Hinshaw Martinez, Caylin Martinez, Cadynce Martinez, Cason Martinez, Tasha Wilkerson, Violet Martinez, Catalina Martinez, Isaiah Kirkman, Analisa Kirkman, Shayla Kirkman, Lilyana Kirkman, Mya Sandoval, Jeremiah Peters, Layla Peters, Jakob Montoya, Michael Martinez, III, Ethan Martinez, Elana Martinez, Antonio Baca-Archuleta, Jaslene Baca-Archuleta, and Delia Martinez.

Stella was born in Santa Fe, New Mexico, attended St. Francis Catholic School, Mid-High School, and graduated from Santa Fe  High School in 1945. She was proud to let everyone know she was a cheerleader for Santa Fe High School, always saying, “Yea, Demons!” or “Go team go!” making us all laugh and smile.

She retired from the State of NM Public Education Department and enjoyed many years of retirement. She loved to cook, kept an immaculate house, loved gardening, dancing, singing, whistling, and playing her piano.

All whom loved her dearly will never forget her tenacity, wit, charm, grace, and beautiful smile.
