Rose A. Mata

It is with a heavy heart and sadness to announce that our beloved Rose passed away surrounded by her loving family on March 2, 2025.

She was born in Cerrillos, NM on December 28, 1948 then moved to Santa Fe in 1958. She graduated from Santa Fe High in 1966. Rose worked in retail until she met the love of her life Socorro whom she married in 1975.

She is proceeded in death by her mother Frances D. Anaya, father Abenicio Anaya, aunt Antonia (Chona) Martinez, uncle David Martinez, brother Charles Anaya, nephews Alfred Martinez, Ronnie Martinez and Antonio Martinez.

She is survived by her husband Socorro Mata Garcia, daughter Andrea Mata Avitia (Cruz Avitia), son Ernest Mata, daughter in law Christine Garcia, granddaughters Crystal Avitia (Jose Zappata Mireles) Alexia Avitia and Jade Mata, grandson Rico Mata and several other relatives and friends who loved her dearly.

Visitation will be held at 5:00 PM on March 6th, 2025 at Santa Fe funerals and cremations. A rosary will follow at 6:00 PM. The burial will be held on Friday march 7th 2025 at 11:00am, at Cemetatario De La Agua Fria.

 Serving as pallbearers: Ernest Mata, Rico Mata, Jose Zapata Mireles, Armando Rodriguez, Lupe Rodriguez and Angel Rodriguez. Honorary pallbearers: Crystal Avitia, Alexia Avitia, and Jade Mata.
