Roland (Mark) Raymond, aged 70, passed away suddenly on April 19, 2024 while jogging near his home in Santa Fe.
Mark was much loved by his children (Rebbie Thomas, Fred Voelkel, Reta Arbusto, Max Raymond) from prior marriages, his eight grandchildren, his partner (Judi Crawford-Parr), his sister and brother (Susan Hyatt, Matt Raymond) and his tight circle of friends in the US and Canada. He was predeceased by his brother (Mike Raymond) and his parents (Vivian and Roland Curtis "Sol" Raymond).
He had fifteen enviable retirement years. After 35 years in the oil and gas industry, much spent commuting to remote locations, he was finally able to pursue his passions for art, history, travel, music and the outdoors. He was delighted with his grandchildren and enjoyed his friends. He travelled extensively, especially throughout Spain, and studied Spanish every day. He was perpetually surrounded by piles of books that reflected his boundless curiosity. He practiced music daily, his latest enthusiasm being piano duets.
Mark was a quiet man but his integrity, loyalty, sense of humour, intelligence and curiosity made a big impact on those who knew him. For those wishing to honor him, please make a contribution to the food bank of your choice in his name.
