Richard Michael Lyon

November 14, 1939 — March 2, 2024

Richard Michael Lyon was born November 14,1939 in Watertown, South Dakota. Soon after Richard’s birth, his parents Arthur and Valois Lyon moved to Silver City, New Mexico where he grew up. In 1960, Richard enlisted in the US Navy and served our country honorably. He then returned to New Mexico and made his home in Santa Fe where he worked as a home inspector and contractor. Richard is survived by his only child, Robert Ybarra Lyon (daughter-in-law Laura Ann), grandsons Steven Ybarra Lyon and Adam Ybarra Lyon (Bailie), brother Robert Lyon and nephew Michael Lyon (Brandy), great nieces Rachel and Megan and great nephews Zachary and Zane. Richard was an inspiration to all. He lived a peaceful life and loving his family was what he did best. He was a kind man with a gentle soul and will be missed dearly.
