Lawrence Baca, born March 30th 1962, passed away peacefully on February 9th 2024, in his home town of Santa Fe. His contagious smile will be profoundly missed, but his memory will continue in the hearts of all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
Lawrence was an award-winning master jeweler having received the Spanish Market Master’s Award for Lifetime Achievement in 2015. His work was represented in several museums and galleries including the Taylor Museum of Colorado Springs, the Albuquerque Museum of Art and History, the Museum of International Folk Art and the Smithsonian Latino Archives.
Services in his memory will be held at Cristo Rey Catholic Church in Santa Fe at 11:00AM on Thursday 29 February. A celebration of life and reception will be held in June, with details to be announced.
