Janice A. Otero, 74, Santa Fe, died peacefully after a long illness on Wed., Sept. 18, 2024.

She was born on May 19, 1950 in Albuquerque to the late William & Betty Otero.

Janice was known as “The Dolphin Lady” for her love of dolphins and the ocean. She had a passion for

whales, horses, and liked being with animals & nature. She loved interacting with children by putting on

puppet shows, telling stories, and reading books. She had a wonderful sense of humor and was a free

spirit. She treasured her time in Ireland, Whidbey Island and Hawaii.

She is survived by her sister-in-law Dyann Otero, nieces Yvonne Otero (Shane Azelton),

Michelle Goodwill (Jeff) and nephew Tyler Goodwill.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Terry Otero.

Santa Fe Funerals & Cremations assisted the family with arrangements. 

Janice’s family would like to thank Nichol Lichen for all her support & guidance and her many wonderful

friends.
