Cassandra Monique (Sandie) Cde Baca, 35 of Santa Fe, New Mexico, born on April 30, 1989, passed away on Monday, March 3, 2025.
Cassandra is survived by her mother Anne (Cde Baca) Maez, stepfather Raymond Maez, father Eugene Ytuarte, brother Colin Maez, grandmother Carol Cde Baca, grandmother Adela Maez, grandmother Edwina Ytuarte, grandfather and wife Daniel and Karen Cde Baca, great-grandmother Frances Garcia, aunt Kristen Martinez, uncle Paul Cde Baca and very good friend of the family Joe Martinez, and many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
Cassandra is preceded in death by her soulmate and the love of her life who she is now reunited with, her husband, Chris Ammons (February 2024), and her grandfather Eugene Ytuarte.
After graduating from Santa Fe High School in 2007, she pursued a bachelor’s degree in computer science at New Mexico Highlands University.
After graduation, her career took her to Tucson, AZ, Denver, CO and North Charleston, SC, eventually ending up back in Santa Fe.
The relationship she had with her brother, Colin Maez, was not like any other. Cassandra was a wonderful big sister; role model and hero that taught him a lot and she always had his back.
Cassandra had a love for muscle cars and her favorite car was the Dodge Challenger. She could talk to you for hours about cars and was part of the Mopar groups on social media. She was so happy when she was able to drive the Tail of the Dragon in Tennessee. What we would give to hear her say “Mopar or No Car” one more time.
Cassandra was not blessed with children, but she did have four dogs (Lily, Ember, Zero and Koda) and one cat (Princess). Lily was her favorite. When you think of Cassandra, celebrate the good memories you have of her.
Remember that life is fragile and short and should be lived to the fullest. I’m going to remember most of my daughter is the love she had for family and friends, and how she took care of her husband when he got ill from Kidney Failure.
A donation to your local animal shelter in her honor in lieu of flowers is appreciated by the family.
A celebration of her life is pending.
