Alessandro Fabiano Gurule

November 26, 1993 — November 24, 2023

Santa Fe

Alessandro Fabiano Gurule, November 26, 1993 – November 24, 2023, age 29 of Santa Fe, NM passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones after a sudden illness. He was born on November 26, 1993, in Santa Fe, New Mexico to Frank Gurule and Melissa McLaughlin. He was a lifelong resident of Santa Fe. He attended Francis X. Nava Elementary School and St. Michael’s Junior/Senior High School where he graduated in 2012. Alessandro was a bright light to all that knew him, a true friend, a car, video game, and computer aficionado. He could spew out car specs of almost any vehicle and loved his FD Mazda RX-7 (if you know, you know). Additionally, he was an accomplished musician utilizing his skills as a songwriter, keyboardist, percussionist, and guitarist and was considered a musical genius. Quite frankly, a true genius in every sense. He was a phenomenal athlete and excelled at every sport he tried. He competed throughout his childhood in many sports namely baseball, basketball, soccer, tennis, and cross country. But his true loves were baseball, basketball, and cross country. As a child, he participated in many championship games where he was relied upon as a shooting guard that could hit shots from past mid court, a closing pitcher, and a home run hitter where he helped seal the game for his team. In high school, he was a member of the State Championship Cross Country team when he was a freshman. He competed in Foot Locker Cross Country Regional competition where he came in 13th. Additionally, for fun and friendly competition, he and his friends competed for their two championship “belts” in neighborhood basketball tournaments and the video game 2k where he held the belts for a long time and made sure everyone knew he was the champ. He truly was a competitor and wasn’t good at losing, which he didn’t do often. He was truly a loving and giving son, brother, boyfriend, and friend. Throughout his life, one could count on seeing his big, bright smile which would light up a room. If Alessandro had, he would give, spoiling his brothers, sisters, and Mom too with gifts on Christmas and whenever he found something he thought each would like. And most importantly, he was a friend to so many whom he would be there at the drop of a hat if he/she needed anything. He continued to nourish his friendships even if he hadn’t seen a friend for some time. His loving, giving nature will be forever missed. The loss of Alessandro creates a huge void in so many lives whom he impacted. The family link forever broken. But we will continue to honor him through the music and food he loved, fixing his beloved RX-7 and all the wonderful memories of his life.

Alessandro is preceded in death by his grandfathers, Juan Gurule and John T. McLaughlin. He is survived by his grandmothers, Christine Gurule and Patricia McLaughlin, father, Frank Gurule, mother, Melissa McLaughlin, brothers and sisters, Alberto, Amadeus, Aria, Aliano, Anjolie, Alijah and Amaya Gurule, girlfriend, Isabella Gomez, and many cousins, family members and many people whom he called friends and considered family.
